Superman vs The Elite

Just watched this movie on the HBO. Though it's animated movie made for entertainment, but it posted questions that should be noticed.
Superman is the peace protector for long-time. He fights bad guys and put them in jail. He never kills and never wants to use violence. His argument is that violence can't solve the problem and everyone should be treated equally under the law.
The Elite is a group of super humans. They also want to protect people, but they have no rules, no boundaries, no jurisdictions. Their philosophy is that bad guys are deserved to be killed and by clearing bad guys out, they can protect people.
So which one would you prefer? What your opinion?

In this movie, people like the idea of The Elite at first; then, Superman shows them that violence only brings more violence. I myself prefer The Elite but in my opinion, none of them was totally right.
The Superman's way is more appropriate if we have a strong and transparent government. There is no point to believe that everyone will be treated equally under a weak, corrupt government.
The Elite's way is more appropriate in time of chaos, when people lose their hope in the government. We have seen many times in the past, people have to trust in the outlaw like Robinhood, Zorro, etc. to provide justice.
Finally, Superman beat up The Elite and continue to be the Earth protector. The lesson here is that normal person (like you and me) just don't have the right to choose the way we regulated. The strong one will set the rule and we can do nothing but abide it. Law is a relative term and it's always constructed under the interest of some individuals.
